My Food Blogging Best Friend: Galaxy Tab 8.9
I really admire those food bloggers who have established themselves in the world of blogging. They have their own gadgets which help them do the job and the skills to enhance their posts through Photoshop.

Hainanese Chicken Lunch at ToastBox
Hainanese Chicken @ Toast Box (P 249) - A quarter portion of Chicken |
My next lunch choice was the Hainanese Chicken in Toast Box: My mom normally orders the quarter portion of the chicken with rice and adds P 30.00 for Toast Box's Iced Tea. My parents quote this as a healthy lunch as HAINANESE CHICKEN is steamed.
I first thought of Hainanese Chicken was bland, but it is starting to become my favorite meal.

My Tokyo Tokyo Favorites
I had always been a fan of Japanese food, however, I'm not the person who can spend much, so lucky for me to have Tokyo Tokyo. I'm sharing to you some of my favorites:
I love sushi.. furthermore, I love MAKI. :) The 4 pc serving of California Maki serves me well along with the newest Tokyo Tokyo Bento: Seafood Furai Bento. I've written that it was my pick of the week and whenever I go to Tokyo Tokyo it does not change. I do love Salmon from the three choices. It is worth the money and worth the price.
If you do not want to try the bento, you can go for the burgers: My personal favorite is the Shogun Burger.
Ready to eat them? Drop by Tokyo Tokyo Now!
I could finish this myself, Tokyo Tokyo's 4 pc. California Maki. I eat it with Seafood Furai Bento. |

Dairy Queen Black Forest Collection
One thing that excites me most about mall trips and the holidays is the desserts specially made for the season. Of course, Dairy Queen can vouch up for that and with the following new additions to their menu, it is something you should not miss:
There is also a contest for you DQ fans: See details on their Facebook fanpage: Dairy Queen Philippines
Pizza Hut Group Meals: Out to Make You Full
When you course through my blog, you would realize how much my family goes out to eat. One of the things my parents look for in a restaurant is something filling but worth the money. Here is something that I can recommend when you go out with your friends, family and even officemates this Holiday Season.
The five of us most often order the for 8 meal. Yeah, we eat a lot, but it is actually worth the money and my parents compensate on the extra serving of salad but I love the pasta.

Caesar Salad Ingredients: |
- 1 head crisp romaine lettuce, washed, dried, torn
- 1 large clove garlic, crushed
- 3 tbsp (45 ml) olive oil
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) balsamic vinegar
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) anchovy essence
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) Worcestershire sauce
- 1 lemon, juice of
- 1 stalk celery, sliced (2 if small)
- 1/2 cup (125 ml) parmesan cheese, grated
- salt and pepper
Caesar Salad Cooking Instructions: |
-
Add garlic to a large salad bowl.
-
Add olive oil and stir and let sit for a few minutes.
-
Add vinegar, anchovy essence, Worcestershire, and lemon juice, and stir.
-
You can let this sit while you prepare the rest of your meal.
-
Just before serving, add lettuce, celery, and parmesan, and toss.Note: If you don’t care for anchovies leave them out and add a little salt to taste. If you can’t find anchovy essence, then use 1 t. anchovy paste or minced anchovies. If the lemon is very juicy you might want to only use 1/2. This recipe is great with cooked chicken or shrimp added.

Ingredients
Dressing:
- 1 clove garlic, smashed with a pinch of salt and a little olive oil
- 4 anchovy fillets
- 2 egg yolks
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 2 lemons, juiced
- 2 tablespoons water
- 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan, plus extra for garnish
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 2 heads romaine lettuce
Directions
Make the dressing: Smear the garlic paste over the inside of the
salad bowl. Put the anchovies, egg yolks, mustard, lemon juice, and
water into a blender and process for 30 seconds until the mixture is
smooth. With the blender running, pour the olive oil in slowly for the
dressing to emulsify. Stir in the Parmesan, a pinch of salt and a couple
of grinds of black pepper; set aside. (Refrigerate the dressing if you
will not be using it right away.)
Assemble the salad: Tear the lettuce into a large bowl. Add enough dressing to coat the salad to your liking. Add some extra Parmesan and toss the salad well. Serve immediately.

Hainanese Chicken Recipe
I'm no Jughead Jones (Archie Comics) but I know FOOD when I taste it.
Yesterday was Sunday and it was pretty much automatic that we would eat outside. This time, we tried Toast Box's Hainanese Chicken. If you had followed me through my blog, you would know that I had tried their Nonya Laksa, this time, we tried their hainanese chicken, a quarter serving with rice (you can do so with noodles).
I've decided to repost a recipe of the Hainanese Chicken, if you would want to try it:
Hainanese Chicken Rice
comes from the Chinese subtropical island of Hainan and many of the sons
and daughters of Hainan immigrated to Singapore in the past 100 years.
The most-popular dish of Hainan is the Chicken Rice in which a chicken
is used in all ways — poached for the meat, the soup is used to make a
deliciously flavored rice and to also infuse the chile sauce. This has
become one of Singapore's top loved dishes, and you will find Hainanese
Chicken Rice in every street corner coffee shop and food court as well
as in the coffee houses of all hotels in Singapore.
Ingredients
Chile Sauce:
- 2 to 3 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh red chiles
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- Salt
-
Chicken and Rice:
- 1 (2-pound) chicken
- 1 scallion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 4 slices fresh, peeled ginger
- 6 tablespoon vegetable oil or olive oil
- 6 to 8 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 4 cups long-grain uncooked rice
- 1 teaspoon fine salt
Directions
Make the Chile Sauce: Combine all the ingredients in a bowl, mix well, and season with salt, to taste. Set aside
Make the Chicken and Rice: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil (enough water to immerse the chicken). Stuff the cavity of the chicken with the scallion and ginger. Add the chicken to the boiling water, breast side-down. Lower the heat to a simmer just under boiling point and cook, covered, until just cooked through, about 40 minutes.
Transfer the chicken to an ice water bath for about 5 to 6 minutes. (This is to arrest the cooking and will make the chicken skin crisp.) Drain. De-bone the chicken and cut into bite-sized pieces. Reserve the chicken stock, and keep hot.
Heat the oil in a wok or saucepan over high heat. Add the garlic and stir-fry until fragrant. Add the rice and stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes. Add enough of the hot reserved chicken soup to reach 1/2- inch above the top of the rice. Bring to the boil, add the salt, and lower the heat to low. When steam holes form in the rice, cover the wok, and steam until cooked, about 30 minutes.
Whisk 1/4 cup of the hot chicken stock into the chile sauce.
Arrange the rice and poached chicken on a platter and drizzle with the chile sauce.

My Pick of the Week: Seafood Furai Bento
Pick of the week is something that the blog owner has deemed to try before the week ends. Hopefully the blogger gets to commit to her challenge pick of the week and review it for you.
I was browsing through the Tokyo Tokyo fanpage and I saw that they have a new bento box offered for their craving customers called the SEAFOOD FURAI BENTO.
The Seafood Furai Bento is perfect for your seafood cravings because it is crabstick, salmon and shrimp all fried to perfection. It goes with the stuff that we know from Tokyo Tokyo. Im gonna give you the judgment, hopefully I get the time before the week ends to try it out.

My judgment: Worth the P 209.00 :)

Serenitea: Foodies For Fashion with Zalora
I've always been a fan of Milkteas so I was so happy when I saw Serenitea at Robinsons Galleria last week. I told my mom I wanted to give it a try, so along with my 2 brothers, off we go to Serenitea.
I looked at their menu, which also shows their TOP 10 best sellers and here is what we picked:
It was one of those days when I said to myself: MILKTEA has been addicting, though too much is actually bad. What was nice with this visit to Serenitea is the Foodies for Fashion Promo in partnership with Zalora.
Zalora is the ultimate online fashion store in the Philippines. Here's how the promo goes:
Since our spending went with the P 250 single receipt purchase, we got the P 250 Zalora Voucher which you can use when you shop online. However, you can only use it when you have purchased P 1000 worth of goodies from Zalora, it has a code which you can place there to deduct the amount on your bill. :)
Voucher Promo is valid until November 30! Who would want to pass out with this discount?

Michelle's Top 5 Favorite Desserts
I'm indeed awed by the presence of great desserts. However, I only have a few favorites, or something I can make do with than any other sweets that are available in the market. Here is my Top 5 list of my favorite desserts. Ready to get started?
Top 1: Coffee Bean's Triple Decker Cheesecake
Though my mom would stop me from eating cakes, I cannot resist starting my Coffee Bean stay without having this cheesecake whenever the opportunity arises. It is a cheesecake built in three layers of coffee, oreo and chicago cheesecakes rolled into a one. What I like most about Coffee Bean's Triple Decker Cheesecake is that it is not that sweet.
Coffee Bean's Triple Decker Cheesecake is priced at P 135.
Top 2: Iceberg's Halo-Halo (2 scoops of Ice Cream)
I am not a fan of Halo-Halo if it is not the "Iceberg Halo Halo". Aside from the generous serving as shown in this photo, the ingredients are somehow value for your money as the whole thing is priced at P 108.00. What's more interesting is, the ice is not those found in ordinary halo halos, you can eat them.
Top 3: Krispy Kreme Donuts
They are absolutely a delight on my tastebuds, even just the Original donut, but then again, they are too sweet which is why I placed them on the middle of my list.
Top 4: Oreo Cheesecake
Oreo Cheesecake from Starbucks, Coffee Bean and other coffee shops are my favorite. But they don't go as much as my Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf Triple Decker Cheesecake.
Top 5: (Newest Pick): Peanut Butter Moo'd from Jamba Juice
My brother and I tried Jamba Juice, I picked "Peanut Butter Moo'd". It is not the ideal dessert but I loved it very much. (and its real expensive).
Do I share the same favorite desserts as you do?
